Fred Creighton: Back to Bethlehem (The Book of Ruth)
Fred Creighton brought a very important message, the first of 2 taken from the book of Ruth. The next one will be in two weeks time on the 29th March. He brought out that Elimeleck and Naomi moved from Bethlehem (which means ‘the house of bread’) to Moab during a time of famine in the land. The parallel for us is that our ‘house of bread’ is reading and meditating on the Word of God - the Bible, which is our spiritual food, and the place of building relationship with our amazing God.
The first part of his message was about what happened to them when they moved away from Bethlehem (their house of bread) and what happens to us when we do likewise. The second part will be about what happened when Naomi and her daughter-in-law Ruth come back. It is a very powerful message for our time when many, even in the house of God, are not reading the Word and are starved spiritually. If you haven’t read the book of Ruth, read it now and ask God to give you revelation of what he wants to say to you through it.
